THE COMPLEX NATURE OF POLITICAL DISCOURSE: LANGUAGE AND POLITICAL GOALS IN PRESIDENT TOKAYEV'S SPEECH

Abstract

This article examines the use of indirect communication in President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's speech at the Saint Petersburg Forum, and seeks to uncover the implicit messages and themes conveyed through his language and rhetorical strategies. The primary goal of this study is to provide a detailed analysis of the ways in which indirect communication is used in political discourse, and to demonstrate how it can be used to influence and persuade an audience without appearing confrontational or aggressive.
