Abstract

This article explores widely adopted approaches used in the educational process of philological programs in higher education, which have proven effective in literary studies. The focus of the research is Kazakh prose, particularly the works of women writers from the post-independence period. The study highlights their creative exploration and distinctive literary features. In analyzing the prose genre, special attention is paid to innovations in the literary process and thematic and structural characteristics of the texts.

Contemporary literary scholarship necessitates a scientific analysis of the short story genre and an investigation into the artistic vision of authors. The aim of this article is to uncover the literary significance of women’s prose from the independence era and to identify the developmental trends in modern Kazakh prose through the examination of these works.

The scholarly value of the research lies in generating new insights based on the analysis of prose texts, while its practical relevance is evident in its usefulness to researchers, graduate students, and doctoral candidates. The study of Ayagul Mantai’s literary features and narrative techniques reveals genre-specific and thematic shifts in contemporary Kazakh prose.

To achieve this, the research employs theoretical, typological, and historical-literary analysis, along with interpretation. The thematic and artistic examination of Mantai’s short stories determines their place and contribution to Kazakh literature. Her works reflect the intersection of everyday life and urban experience, articulated through a cohesive and authentic artistic framework.
