Abstract

This article provides a cognitive-discursive analysis of the functions of the analytical formants -yp tasta,-yp qal, -yp sal, -yp bit, which express the completion of an action in the Kazakh language. The category of completive aspectuality is considered as a complex concept that is systematically realized through the speaker’s cognitive activity, the communicative situation, and the linguistic representation of that situation in discourse.

The aim of the study is to identify the semantic features of analytical formants that convey the concept of completive aspectuality. The research objectives include analyzing scientific theories describing the category of aspectuality in the Kazakh language and classifying the semantic distinctions of analytical formants expressing action completion on the basis of cognitive-discursive analysis.

The study employs frame-semantic analysis, discourse analysis, descriptive methods, and componential analysis. The scientific and practical significance of the research lies in the development of cognitive grammar in Kazakh linguistics and in enriching the linguodidactics of teaching the Kazakh language with new linguistic data. The functions of analytical formants are examined within syntactic integrity, and the conceptual structure of completive aspectuality is classified into frames such as subject, action, time, place, cause, psychological state, goal, and event dynamics. Each analytical formant is analyzed through frame-semantic and discourse-based approaches.

The main results and conclusions of the study demonstrate that discourse is the key factor determining the various manifestations of completive aspectuality. The findings indicate that causal relationships between events, the subject’s emotional and psychological state, evaluative stance, and the pace of event development are significant factors shaping the choice of formant and its semantic characteristics. A frame-based analysis is conducted on the semantic structure of aspectual nuances such as completion, interruption, sudden realization, and incomplete action.

The value of the study lies in the fact that cognitive-discursive analysis makes it possible to reveal more deeply the complex conceptual nature of completive aspectuality in the Kazakh language, as well as its discursive and cognitive foundations. The practical significance of the research consists in expanding the established understanding of the category of aspectuality in Kazakh linguistics from functional-semantic and cognitive-pragmatic perspectives. The application of cognitive-discursive analysis contributes to the enrichment of the theoretical methodology of Kazakh linguistics.
