Abstract

The article analyzes how in the process of applying digital technologies in the information space, new norms of language use are created, which are formed according to their own laws. Today, the study of the features of communication in the virtual world, in chats as a special means of communication in general, and in the language of English-language chats in particular, is of great interest. In this regard, it becomes relevant to study the methods of transmitting information in the English-language electronic discourse of chats using abbreviations.
