Abstract

The article discusses the question of the relationship between comparative and contrastive studies in modern linguistics. The authors presented a brief overview of the works devoted to comparative and contrastive studies. In the course of the analysis, it was revealed that the differences between comparative and contrastive studies are determined by the goals and objectives of the researcher.
