Abstract

The article is dealing with one of the most controversial linguistic issues: the emergence of foreign language loanwords in Kazakh media texts. Therefore, in this article, we are talking about anglicisms when we say the words of a foreign language. The media center of modern culture makes media text the main platform for any linguistic innovation. The influence of lexical and stylistic features of journalists’ texts on the formation of the linguistic taste of society, the formation of its concepts and concepts of model assimilation of the Kazakh literary language implies a critical attitude to the selection of language tools.

The research materials are the online publications on news platforms inform.kz, nur.kz, tengrinew.kz and massaget.kz that were published in the period from 2006 to 2023. The choice of sources of information is due to the fact that they have a variety, especially on political, economic, cultural and social subjects as well as mass distribution via the Internet. During the study, a new classification of loanwords is proposed and a conclusion is given on the research carried out.

Various methods of research were used as studying the works of linguists, analysis of dictionary data (electronic dictionaries of the English language and data of the National Corpus of the Kazakh language) and internet publications, diachronic comparative analysis.

In consequence of the analysis of the compiled materials, there was observed an increase in the number of anglicisms compared to 2010. The consideration of anglicisms is relevant not only to linguists, but also to culturologists, sociologists and psychologists.
