SYSTEMATIC APPROACH TO ASSESSING THE QUALITY OF TRANSLATION IN THE SCIENTIFIC AND EDUCATIONAL SPHERE

A new stage in the development of the domestic theory and practice of translation requires a rethinking of the theoretical positions and methodological approaches to the category of translation quality, its assessment, taking into account the achievements of global translation science.
The purpose of the study is development of an algorithm for a systematic approach of translation quality assessment (hereinafter TQA) in the scientific and educational fields within the framework of communicative-functional model. The main idea of the scientific research is that a systematic approach to TQA should be carried out taking into account internal and external evaluation based on reasonable criteria and according to a certain algorithm.
The scientific significance of the work lies in the fact that for the first time the normative-evaluative categories of translation quality have been described in line with the methodology of system analysis; this may help to solve the problem of overcoming one-sided considerations of the translation quality category.
The methodology of the study is based on the results of previous works on the application of a systematic approach in linguistics and translation studies, as well as the study of the TQA of texts of various genres.
The main results consist in the description of such formants of the communicative situation of educational and scientific translation as subject, purpose, format, method, criteria and parameters of evaluation. The external and internal TQA have been differentiated. The step-by-step procedure of internal TQA of the scientific texts has been described.
The theoretical significance of the study is the fact that its results will contribute to the development of criticism and didactics in the Kazakh translation studies.
The practical significance of the work lies in the possibility of applying the developed TQA algorithm based on a systematic approach in the educational process of Kazakhstani universities, and in translation agencies and companies.
