The article examines the linguistic poetics of Magzhan Zhumabaev's poem “I Love” (artistic and visual means, cultural vocabulary, external form of the poem) and the features of its translation into Russian and English.
Scientific goal, main directions and ideas of research is that the translation of poetry always belongs to a separate category of translations, since poetry, as a genre requires special attention from the translator. The specificity of a poetic text depends on its cultural and national characteristics, as well as on the structural features of the language in which it is written. Therefore, the purpose of the research work is to identify and formulate the content-structural transformations and patterns of translation of poetry from Kazakh into Russian and English based on the poem “I Love” by Magzhan Zhumabayev.
Scientific and practical significance of the study lies in the fact that article examines in detail the thoughts of scientists concerning possible translation problems in poetic translation. This is the theoretical value of the study. Having analyzed two versions of the translation in Russian in comparison with the original, the authors propose the original version of the English translation and point out the practical value of this work.
A brief description of the research methodology – a comparative semantic and structural analysis of the internal and external forms of the poem in the original/translation pair was carried out.
Main results and analysis of the research work, conclusions – the core task of translating poetry is to preserve not only the semantic, but also the structural, stylistic, artistic and figurative unity of the text. To this end, in the process of translating poetic works, the semantic development of images can be used to achieve the integrity of the structure and content of the poem. As a result of the analysis, it was suggested that the translation, in addition to linguistic and cultural characteristics, was also influenced by the gender identity of the translator.
The value of the research and the practical significance of the results of the work lies in the fact that the translations of M. Zhumabaev’s poetry into Russian and English have not been studied from the point of view of linguopoetics in the domestic science of translation. Therefore, the results of the analysis will not only determine the quality of translations of the poet’s poems, but also contribute to their translation at a higher level.
