The purpose of this paper is to determine the cognitive features of the concept «Patriotism» in Kazakh and Russian linguistic cultures on the basis of comparative analysis.
The study was conducted within the anthropocentric paradigm of language science, in the context of cognitive linguistics. The relevance of this study is due to the steady interest of linguists in studying the connection between language and thinking, language and culture through the study of the conceptosphere any particular community of people. Patriotism in the consciousness of the Russian and Kazakh audience is a complex phenomenon that requires careful study and analysis. Patriotism as a socio-cultural concept is one of the key components of national identity, i.e., the basic concept of the national picture of the world. In reality, the concept "Patriotism" is inextricably linked with political and social processes, and the study of this phenomenon in the Russian and Kazakhstani worldviews in relationship with these processes in the comparative aspect is of particular interest, which is the reason for the scientific novelty of this paper. The method of research of cognitive attributes of the concept, in our case, is a free associative experiment. The research results obtained during the experiment, along with the identification of cognitive features of the concept "Patriotism", allow us to determine their similarities and differences in different social conditions in Russia and Kazakhstan.
This study can make an important contribution to understanding the processes of formation of patriotic consciousness in representatives of different cultural communities, as well as in the development of practical recommendations to improve patriotic education of young people and promote the strengthening of civic consciousness among residents in Kazakhstan and Russia.
