PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS IN KAZAKH AND ENGLISH LANGUAGES REGARDING TO CHARACTER TYPES

Abstract

Character is a set of manifestations of behavioral traits characteristic of the subject and stable mental properties of personality, occurring in certain life situations. Therefore, studying the character of a person, we get the opportunity to identify, compare, contrast the national character and psychology, values and positions of a particular people. The principles of life, social environment, traditions and culture of a person or nation have a great influence on the formation of character. The research paper identifies the types of character accentuations that arise in the process of formation of a person's personality. Taking into account that character is a set of mental qualities, but its character in the language is expressed on the basis of different linguistic units, the article took into account phraseological units characterizing character in Kazakh and English languages.

The aim of the study is to identify similarities and differences of phraseological units characterizing character types in English and Kazakh languages on the basis of semantic analysis. The scientific significance of the article is revealed by the definition of national-cultural stereotypes characteristic of the two nations in determining phraseological units characterizing character types in Kazakh and English languages. The practical significance of the work lies in the possibility of using the results of the study, samples of analysis as theoretical and experimental material in research works in such special areas of linguistics as cognitive linguistics, related research works on phraseological units in Kazakh and English languages, as well as in interdisciplinary studies in the field of psychology and pedagogy, cultural studies.

The research methodology is based on the methods of control, generalization, semantic, lexical analysis of phraseological phrases characterizing character types in Kazakh and English languages, as well as on the methods of comparative interpretation of relationships within the framework of psychological, pedagogical and intercultural studies.

The relevance of the research work is to study on the basis of semantic analysis of phraseological phrases characterizing character types in Kazakh and English languages, with a comparison of similarities and differences characteristic of two unrelated nations, differentiation of national-cultural features characteristic of both nations.
