This article examines the literary connections and shared cultural heritage found in the works of Mukhtar Auezov and Dodzhon Rajabi. Special attention is given to the postcolonial themes reflected in their writings. Both authors address tragic events in the history of their people, including the repressions of the 1930s and 1950s, psychological pressure, and the suffering of their compatriots. The study analyzes the interaction between Auezov’s and Rajabi’s works, identifying common themes and motifs that unite them and how they contribute to the preservation and development of their respective cultural and literary traditions.
The relevance of the study lies in the fact that Rajabi’s work from the late 20th century represents the first attempt at an in-depth exploration and artistic interpretation of the 1937 repressions in Tajikistan, thereby making a significant contribution to postcolonial Tajik literature. Auezov's and Rajabi's works reflect common aspects of cultural and historical heritage, highlighting their significance within the context of regional literature. Dodzhon Rajabi, by reviewing hundreds of archival materials, articles from the 1930s, and accounts from witnesses and relatives of persecuted writers, has provided evidence that he succeeded in deeply and accurately conveying the events, and has raised questions related to the work of contemporary writers, offering a comprehensive review.
The aim of the study is to identify and analyze the literary connections and common themes in the works of Auezov and Rajabi, with a focus on their contribution to the preservation of cultural heritage and understanding postcolonial themes. The scientific significance of the research lies in expanding the understanding of Central Asian literature, revealing common motifs and themes, and deepening the comprehension of the impact of historical events on literary creativity. The practical significance of the study is that the results can be used for further exploration of cultural connections and historical memory in the literature of the region, as well as for teaching the works of Auezov and Rajabi.
To address the topic, the article employs methods of generalization, description, systematization, and narrative review. The research emphasizes the importance of revisiting historical events through the lens of creative works, providing practical value and contributing to a deeper understanding of the cultural heritage of Central Asian peoples.
