Abstract

This article addresses the topic of changing gender stereotypes in language and culture through the prism of proverbs and sayings in Russian, English, and German. The relevance of the study is related to the examination of established ideas about men and women through language and their dynamic change, which makes it possible to objectively perceive gender roles in the context of contemporary social practice. The purpose of the article is to analyze changes in the roles of men and women in language and culture through the prism of proverbs and sayings in Russian, English, and German. The article examines how gender stereotypes are transformed in language and how these changes affect the perception of the roles of men and women in different cultures. The presentation of the research methodology, including linguistic methods such as semantic, syntactic, and pragmatic analysis, helps to understand the approach to analyzing proverbs. This makes it possible to comprehend how stereotypes based on gender are transformed in language. A review of the results of the analysis of proverbs in Russian, German, and English demonstrates a wide range of gender stereotypes. It describes how the same patterns of behavior can manifest themselves in different languages, but at the same time influence the perception of the roles of men and women in culture. The article highlights both positive and negative judgments faced by women and compares them with perceptions of male roles, which is particularly valuable for sociolinguistic analysis. The introduction of new trends, such as gender-neutral language, in modern society is becoming a key aspect in the fight for gender equality and respect.
