It is known that the richness of words in any language is measured not only by the number of words in the dictionary registry. In this regard, work aimed at studying the issues of "word semantics", "word synergy", "associative-figurative potential of linguistic units", "cultural code of language", and consideration of language in its connection with the cultural context of the consumer is always important and valuable. The cultural and cognitive features of Kazakh stable expressions analyzed in the article are considered as a special semiotic integral system based on the linguistic and cultural code. The purpose of the work is to reveal the origins of the origin, cultural and linguistic memory of Kazakh stable expressions containing cultural and cognitive information. The article focuses on the hidden cultural semantics, the extralinguistic motivation of stable expressions that are not recorded in fifteen-volume and one-volume explanatory, etymological, dialectological and other dictionaries. The ways and means of revealing the cultural semantics underlying the lexical and phraseological units included in the register of lexicographic works of the Kazakh language are determined. In one type of lexical and phraseological units, linguistic and cultural information embedded in the code is compared. In the second type, the linguistic information embedded in the code is open, while the cultural information is closed. The research used methods of collection, selection, semiotic analysis, etymological analysis, interpretive analysis, component analysis, as well as contextual and comparative analyses. The issues considered in the course of the research occupy a place among the urgent problems not only of the science of language, but also of other humanities (ethnography, cultural studies, regional studies, etc.) and the field of education. The results of the research can be used in lectures and special courses on the linguistics of literary text, cognitive linguistics, linguoculturology, in the compilation of explanatory, linguoculturological dictionaries of the Kazakh language and ethnographic encyclopedias.
