LINGUISTIC REPRESENTATION OF THE CONCEPT "AKYL/UM" IN THE PICTURE OF THE WORLD OF THE KAZAKH PEOPLE

Abstract

The study is devoted to the analysis of linguistic representation of the concept "akyl/intelligence" on the Kazakh language material. Information about the structure and content of the concept "akyl/intelligence" is based on the analysis of the material from lexicographic sources, folklore texts, associative experiment data. The purpose of the investigation is to study the linguistic representations of the concept "akyl/intelligence" in the worldview of the Kazakh people. A comprehensive analysis of the linguistic means representing the concept "akyl/intelligence" gives an opportunity to penetrate into the linguocultural structure of the concept. Investigation of the multilayer structure of the concept, determined by its multidimensionality, is also represented in the present study. The analysis of folklore texts shows that this concept is personalized in an images, it doesn’t represent abstract characteristics, but an image of a person in various life situations. It was experimentally revealed that the concept "akyl/intelligence" is formed in the linguistic consciousness, the word  "akyl " evokes an associative field in the minds of informants and is on a par with moral categories.
