Abstract

This article examines aitys, one of the oldest forms of Kazakh folk art. Aitys is an integral part of Kazakh culture and traditions, representing a significant layer of literary heritage while contributing to the preservation of national identity, language, and history. A prominent representative of this art, renowned for her improvisational mastery, is Assiya Aipovna Berkenova – аn outstanding poet who has played an important role in reviving Kazakh culture and safeguarding national heritage. The article explores her creative path, artistic style, and contribution to the development of contemporary aitys.

The study aims to analyze the poet’s creative legacy and define her unique place in modern aitys. It examines her individual style, linguistic and stylistic features, poetic techniques, and her reflections on socio-political and cultural issues. Poetic analysis reveals the artistic and aesthetic value of Berkenova’s works, which address family values, moral education, and the preservation of national identity.

Scientific significance lies in highlighting the artistic dimensions of modern aitys through the lens of individual creativity and demonstrating the continuity of national ideas and spiritual heritage. Practical significance is that the findings can be applied in courses on oral folk literature, the study and teaching of aitys, and the preparation of educational and methodological materials.

Modern Kazakh aitys, as a syncretic art form, is undergoing thematic and genre transformations, and analyzing its contemporary trends underscores the relevance of this research.
