This article examines the role, features, and classification of economic terminology in the teaching of economics in Kazakhstan and China, using Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi and Tsinghua University as case studies. The aim of the research is to identify the regularities of formation, semantic characteristics, and teaching features of economic terms within different political, economic, and educational systems. The research materials include curricula, textbooks, and economic terminology dictionaries used in higher education institutions in Kazakhstan and China. The methodological framework is based on the application of analysis and synthesis, generalization and classification, comparative, structural-semantic, and descriptive methods. The results of the study show that differences in the characteristics and classification of economic terminology in Kazakhstan and China are determined by the specific features of their educational systems and different approaches to professionally oriented language instruction. In Kazakh universities, emphasis is placed on the development of trilingual education and the use of digital terminology resources, whereas in China priority is given to contextual acquisition of terminology, analysis of professional texts, and the formation of students’ practical terminological competence under conditions of dynamic economic development. The scientific value of the study lies in its systematic cross-cultural and interdisciplinary analysis of the terminological systems of economic disciplines in universities of Kazakhstan and China, contributing to the development of methodology for teaching economic terminology in higher education. The practical significance of the work consists in the possibility of applying its results in the development of curricula, teaching materials, and terminological dictionaries for economics programs, as well as in improving the qualifications of instructors teaching economic terminology courses.
