Gender linguistics is one of the priority areas of modern linguistic science, and its research is based on material from virtually all modern written languages. Currently, the study of language and gender issues has developed into a comprehensive interdisciplinary field based on in-depth discourse analysis. Contemporary linguistics addresses issues of gender discourse in a comprehensive manner, examining its theoretical foundations as well as its linguistic, pragmatic, and cultural aspects. The aim of this study is to identify the linguistic, pragmatic and interactive features of gender discourse, to characterise it as an independent form of media discourse, and to determine the parameters of interaction between the addresser and the addressee. The research objectives are to identify the theoretical foundations of gender discourse, analyze its linguistic, pragmatic, and interactive features, determine its place within the media discourse system, and systematize the discourse-forming parameters of interaction between the addresser and the addressee. Content analysis, discourse analysis and pragmatic interpretation were employed as research methods. As a result of the study, twenty episodes of TED Talks were grouped into four thematic areas. The scientific novelty and value of the work are determined by the peculiarities of the formation of gender linguistics in Kazakhstani linguistics, as well as by the fact that, for the first time, an analysis of gender discourse has been carried out on the basis of TED Talks, revealing its linguistic and extralinguistic aspects. The theoretical significance of the study lies in explaining the nature of new linguistic forms in modern communication through media-linguistic and pragmatic-linguistic analysis of podcast discourse. The practical significance of the work lies in the possibility of using the results obtained as teaching materials in the disciplines of “Media Discourse” and “Gender Linguistics”. In addition, TED Talks materials can be used in practical classes as an effective tool for language teaching, media literacy and communication culture formation. In conclusion, it has been established that gender discourse, which is the subject of this study, is a dynamically developing area of contemporary Kazakhstani linguistics. The results obtained can serve as a theoretical basis for further research on gender discourse.
