Abstract

This article examines the artistic representation of folklore in Kazakh literature within the framework of the concept of folklorism. The purpose of the study is to identify the artistic functions of folklore in the literary process of the independence period and to determine the main models of creative representation of folklore through an analysis of its interaction with authorial poetics. Folklorism is considered in its historical and theoretical dimensions, and scholarly approaches developed in Western, Russian, and Kazakh literary studies are systematized.

The research employs a комплекс methodology based on cultural memory theory, archetypal interpretation, and narratological analysis. These methodological approaches make it possible to examine the symbolic functions of folklore motifs and images in literary texts, as well as the mechanisms by which folk narrative poetics are integrated into authorial narrative structures.

The analysis identifies two main models of artistic representation of folklorism in contemporary Kazakh prose. The first is the archetypal-symbolic model, in which folklore worldviews and mythological codes form the philosophical and figurative structure of a literary work. The second is the narrative-stylistic model, in which folklore tradition is realized through folk storytelling intonation, stylistic and linguistic devices, and everyday narrative situations.

The results demonstrate that folklorism in the contemporary literary process functions not merely as an ethnographic or ready-made artistic material, but as an important artistic mechanism for representing national worldview and cultural memory. The scientific novelty of the article lies in substantiating folklorism as a multi-level artistic phenomenon and in identifying the archetypal-symbolic and narrative-stylistic models of its realization in Kazakh literature.
