Abstract. The object of this study is an article of a political nature, published in a French periodical edition.
The author makes an attempt to identify the linguocultural context, expressed by different linguocultural meanings, and to show that the representation of information within the framework of political media discourse implies that an informative political media text carries additional functional load, both pragmatic and linguocultural, which are integrated into the language and are an integral part of the general meaning.
The study of a common scientific object is carried out by means of cognitive-discursive, linguocultural analysis. At the same time, the elements of textual analysis were aimed at identifying the discursive process reflected in the journalistic material, while elements of contextual analysis were used to determine the roles, socio-political positions and cognitive characteristics of the subjects of speech as linguistic personalities. The mentioned methods are related to the spectrum of interpretation, which was directly used along with other types.
The article, in particular, on the basis of theoretical studies of scientists, touches on the process of politicization and the endowment of certain topics with multiple meanings in the political media discourse. This thesis is based on the results of a quantitative analysis carried out as part of the consideration of this issue by the author. The author concludes that modern political media discourse is closely connected with the aspects of language, worldview, cognition and culture, which determines its perception by the linguocultural competence of the recipient. These methods are related to the spectrum of interpretation, which was directly used on the basis of the nomothetic method.
The scientific idea developed in the suggested article can contribute details to the methods of analysis in comprehending political media discourse. The results of the work can be used in linguopragmatics, linguoculturology, linguocognitivistics, journalism theory and other studies. The practical significance of the study may be of interest to researchers of political media text, media discourse, practicing journalists, etc.
