DENOTATIVE AND STRUCTURAL CHARACTERISTICS OF COLOR DESIGNATION IN ENGLISH AND KAZAKH LANGUAGES

Abstract

The proposed scientific article provides a description of the study of denotative and structural features of color names in English and Kazakh languages used in the light industry, including textiles. In human culture, including the minds of any nation, special attention has always been paid to color names, physiological and aesthetic perception of the world, the environment, interest in color and symbols make research in various fields of science and contribute to increasing the scope of their application. The scientific consideration of the structural and denotative nature of color names in English and Kazakh, which belong to inflective and agglutinative languages, determines the purpose of the work, because color names can be attributed not only to artistic works, but also to linguistic units, which include an interdisciplinary basis for various fields such as psychology, pedagogy, philosophy, cultural studies, medicine, painting and fine arts, textiles, design, light industry, agriculture. The article provides an overview of the scientific and theoretical works of representatives of the world and domestic linguistics on the symbolic and cognitive features of color names. In the course of the study, the method of comparison, the method of morphological analysis of the structural features of the names of species and colors found in the texts were used.

The novelty of this article is the comparative consideration of color names and ways of their shades in English and Kazakh, which are of significant importance in the textile industry, to justify and identify the most important directions of new names that appear with the passage of time. The scientific result of the article is the collection and study of color names in English and Kazakh, their shades. Scientific and practical significance of scientific work and the results obtained in the course of the study are recommended for use in practical training and lectures, in the compilation of glossaries, in the preparation of educational programs in the field of literature, translation, scientific reports, articles, theses, in all areas related to color terms.
