Abstract

The article is devoted to identifying the role of the concept in preserving the semantic integrity of the text and its deep meaning, studying ways to translate the concept into another language. The purpose of the work is to study the concept of the source text bearing the main semantic load, as well as to describe the methods of translating contextual meaning. The problem of its objectification posed in the study is relevant, since the issue of the semantic role of the concept of text as an element preserving the integrity of the text has not yet been fully studied. The scientific novelty of the work consists in the fact that the concept is described as a unit of the author's modality and an element that creates the integrity of the text. The following methods were used in the course of the research: conceptual, layer-by-layer, comparative analysis of the means of the concept linguistic objectification in the source language. The methods of transferring the concept meaning to another language, the ways of replacing the concept figurative means of the source language, descriptive translation were considered.

Within the framework of the study, certain results were obtained: the main categories of the text, the essence of such categories as the semantic unity of the text, the author's modality were identified; the role of the concept in preserving the meaning of the text, its integrity and the transfer of the author's modality of the source text was clarified; the ways of rendering the concept of the source text to the translation language were described; conclusions were drawn about the need for a detailed study of the source text concept functions, its role in the formation of the text coherence and the author's intention, techniques for adequate conveying of concepts in another language, the description of such techniques in the translation of concepts as strategies of meaning and form.
