This article deals with the problem of analyzing a dramatic work of art from the point of view of the isomorphism of its content and form. We use the system-structural method for studying the text, developed by Doctor of Philology, Professor A. Ye. Kulumbetova. The scientific and practical significance of the work lies in the fact that through system analysis it becomes possible to determine the degree of artistry of the text, as well as shed light on many debatable problems of the content and formal aspects of the work. The research methodology is based on a four-stage approach to the study of the text: the analysis of the title, the determination of the boundaries of the present tense (the beginning of the action), the analysis of the active center (the denouement of the action), the study of the work in reverse motion from the active center. As a result of a systematic analysis of the work, the following conclusions of the research work were obtained: Ye. Ospanov's play "Tanatar" is a socio-psychological and lyrical short drama with comedic elements, it has a romantic-realistic stylistic synthesis; according to the method of depicting reality, we have before us an existentialist play, but with elements of expressionism and postmodernism (this is how the features of the difficult perestroika and post-perestroika times are reflected in the work). The value of the conducted literary research is that the systemic expression of "order" and "chaos" is substantiated on the material of the dramatic text, which allows us to speak about the degree of artistry of the work. The practical significance of the results of the work lies in the fact that the method of system-structural analysis of the work can be used in teaching such academic disciplines as the propaedeutic course of literature, introduction to literary criticism, literary theory, history of Russian, Kazakh, foreign literature and others.
