LEXICO-SEMANTIC REPRESENTATION OF THE CONCEPT "MIND / MIND" IN KAZAKH-ENGLISH MAGIC DISCOURSE

Abstract

The article analyzes the lexical and semantic representation of the concept "akil / mind" in the Kazakh-English magic discourse. The theoretical basis of the study is based on the conclusions of linguoconceptology, which is considered one of the branches of modern cognitive linguistics, especially attention is paid to its comparative aspect.

The purpose of the research work is to show the general picture of the world and national identity in these languages through the concept of akil/mind in Kazakh and English magic discourse. The concept of mind and their synonyms found in Kazakh and English fairy tales (the fairy tale "Er Tostik", the fairy tale "The Three Heads of the Well") were taken as the research material. The main research methods used were descriptive, typological method, component analysis method, field method, opposition method, comparative method, continuous dictionary sampling method, quantitative and statistical analysis methods. Fairy-tale discourse as one of the genres of discourse reflects the uniqueness of each nation. The dictionary articles of the akil/mind concept and lexico-semantic expression in fairy-tale discourse, synonymic series, mental abilities of fairy-tale heroes are analyzed. Despite the different use of the akil/mind concept in Kazakh and English fairy-tale discourse, in these two linguistic and cultural associations, the mind is associated with intelligence, judgment, experience, and individuality of the mind. The results of the study revealed universal features of mental activity and the uniqueness of the worldview of each nation. The analysis of the lexico-semantic representation of the mind/mind concept in the fairy tale "Here is Toast" in Kazakh and the fairy tale "The Three Heads of the Well" in English revealed, first of all, the properties of mental activity common to mankind: thinking, human consciousness; key thoughts, useful tips, opinion. In the Kazakh fairy-tale discourse, the mind reflects the ingenuity, the ingenuity of the main characters, and in the English fairy-tale discourse-the determination of the main character. The concept of reason in Kazakh fairy-tale discourse is often used in the meanings of finding a solution, finding a trick, and in English fairy-tale discourse - in the meanings of expressing a positive opinion, showing the right way. The results of the research contribute to the development of the field of cognitive linguistics. It also contributes to the replenishment and deepening of research related to linguoculturology, pragmalinguistics, and comparative linguistics.
