T‬HE E‬PISTOLAR H‬ERITAGE O‬F S‬ABIT M‬UKANOV

Abstract

This article discusses the letters and documents of the academic writer Sabit Mukanov, which he addressed to his contemporaries, writers, readers, prominent statesmen and public figures. Sabit Mukanov's letters are stored in the Central State Archive of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the fund 1634.

The purpose of the article is to study the letters of Sabit Mukanov in order to determine the language, stylistic features, content, artistic structure, the realities of society and the time of writing the letters. Academic writer Sabit Mukanov is one of the writers who paid the most attention to the epistolary genre in Kazakh literature. The epistolary heritage of the writer is very rich. We have studied and analyzed letters written to Sabit Mukanov by Shakarim Kudaiberdiuly, Magzhan Zhumabaev, Mukhtar Auezov, as well as letters addressed to writers Idris Ualikhanov, Saifi Kudash, Azilkhan Nurshaiykov, Galym Maldybaev and residents of Kyzylzhar, identified their linguistic and stylistic features, content, artistic originality of the writer's letters, the realities of society and that time.

When writing the article, the methods of traditional scientific analysis and generalization, chronological, complex, individual analysis were used.

The letters of the writer Sabit Mukanov often touch upon issues related to the fate of literature, works of art, national heritage, the status of the people, and native land. In letters addressed to young writers, the author shared teaching advice. It can be seen from the letters that the writer deeply understands the genealogy of the path of civic growth and the epistolary genre.

As a result of the study, we were convinced that all letters are diverse in their content. The conclusions drawn from the analysis of  Sabit Mukanov's letters allow us to take a fresh look at the epistolary work of Sabit Mukanov. Valuable letters preserved in the archives of the national writer Sabit Mukanov are an invaluable treasure for a wide range of readers, readers, writers' workshop and researchers of the history of literature.

The scientific significance of the research work lies in the fact that it contributes to the field of «Literary Criticism»  in higher educational institutions. Practical significance: the results of the study can be used as an additional educational material in preparation for lectures and practical classes in the discipline «Mukanov studies».
