Abstract

This article is devoted to the analysis of the peculiarities of the translation of the play as a special kind of fiction based on the speech of the characters. The choice of the tragedy "King Lear" is due to the relevance of the problem of intergenerational communication and parent-child relations in modern society. The features of the speech of the characters in the original and in translations into Russian (by different authors and at different times) and into the Kazakh language are considered in accordance with the mentality and moral foundations of the recipient of the translation.
