THE CONCEPT OF «HAPPINESS» IN KAZAKH FOLK LYRICS

Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of one of the most important concepts for the national outlook of the Kazakh people – the emotional concept of happiness. This problem has worried philosophers, psychologists, and poets since time immemorial. With the development of the science of cognitive linguistics, it became possible to consider this problem in the linguistic picture of the world. Consideration of the etymology of the word happiness allows us to trace the connection between the meaning of this word and ideas about the phenomenon of happiness in the history of the Kazakh language culture. The main purpose of our article is to identify the meaning of the concept of  happiness in the language of Kazakh folk lyrics. The object of the analysis were historical poems, folk songs included in the collection Babalar sozi. The concept of  happiness is explained from explanatory dictionaries of the Kazakh language. For the first time, the cognitive nature of the concept of happiness in Kazakh folk lyrics was revealed, a conceptual analysis of linguistic units was carried out, concepts revealing the content of each frame were generalized. Frames reflecting the essence and mentality of the Kazakh people are analyzed. Considering the concept of happiness in Kazakh folk lyrics, we tried to contribute to new areas of linguistics, such as cognitive linguistics, linguoculturology, ethnolinguistics. The results of the conceptual analysis of this article can be used at special seminars dedicated to Kazakh folklore.

During the writing of the article, we were convinced that Kazakh folklore is a rich heritage of the people, which connects the past and present of the nation. Because in folklore, along with history, fate, everyday life, faith in the future, the dream of the nation is reflected. And the analysis of the folklore language is one of the topical topics in modern linguistics.
