Abstract

The author of the article examines the issues of the development of public consciousness from the point of view of their fundamental and methodological study. The preservation of cultural heritage in the context of modernization of the national (public) consciousness, the enhancement of the cultural and political identity of the people of Kazakhstan as a civil society have a fundamental research base.

Based on the analysis of the scientific works of prominent scientists V. von Humboldt, L. Weisgerber, modern researchers B.A. Serebrennikov, M.S. Kachan, Kazakh scientists N. Sadykov, K. Temirgaliev and others, the author reveals the factors of modernization of public consciousness, which is relevant for the Kazakh society.

Using the method of questioning, the author establishes "rank preference in the ethnocultural consciousness" of Kazakhs and representatives of the Russian people. During the experiment, the respondents, relying on phraseological units, indicated the traits of another people, the rank preference of these traits in the ethnocultural consciousness.

It is emphasized that the psycholinguistic aspect of the study of social consciousness involves considering the relationship between a person (consciousness) and language, speech and thinking.

In this case, language plays the role of an intermediary in the relationship: the material world - language - consciousness (reflection), i.e. language takes part in the cognitive processes of reflection of the objective world by a person.

The author of the article reveals the concepts that ensure the fundamental nature of research: mental, or linguocreative, activity, pragmatism, preservation of national identity, the cult of knowledge, openness of consciousness. They are important components of the psycholinguistic study of social consciousness, reflected in the linguistic characteristics of the people.

These concepts are closely related to other important concepts characterized by national identity: cognitive models of linguocreative thinking, stereotypes, values, identification. Their study and consideration of research results are important in the process of modernizing public consciousness.

The work makes a certain contribution to the development of the psycholinguistic aspect of the study of public consciousness, is relevant for Kazakhstani reality.

The conclusions made in the work are interesting for specialists in the field of psycholinguistics, linguistics, philologists, students, undergraduates
