FUNCTIONAL DISCOURSE ANALYSIS OF HUMOR

Abstract

This article proposes a "functional discursive analysis of humor" based on various sources of research, as well as taking into account specific examples.

The purpose of the article is to analyze humor from a functional discursive point of view, refusing to pay special attention to positive humor and considering it from a different angle. One of the areas that attracts the attention of researchers of discursive analytics is the differentiation of information about responses that cause humor. Moving away from earlier studies focused on laughter as a prototype response to humor, several recent studies have identified and discussed other ways to respond in terms of supporting or rejecting humor.

The study was conducted using the method of comparative study of the functional discursive analysis of humor from various sources. In addition to these methodological questions, another difficult question that discourse analysts often face when studying humor is how to accurately identify humor in the data. The article examines the functional discourse from an analytical point of view and provides research on various aspects of psychoanalytic theories.

The scientific significance of the article lies in the fact that some of the strategies that attract attention through the functional discursive analysis of humor, such as speaking with a lot of humor, repeating the words of the speaker, a more motivated attitude to interaction, agreement with the main proposals, disagreement, offering alternative interpretations, as well as the use of facial gestures, smiling, nodding, raising eyebrow issues such as speech were considered.

Practical significance of the article is that the place of humor in the context of the workplace in the family, in the circle of friends to relieve tension and stress, the importance of dynamics and complexity of interactive humor is determined. Some ways of using humor have been identified and described.

Methodological, procedural (technological) and instrumental levels of the functional discursive analysis of humor, naturalistic methods for understanding the dialogical character, its purpose, opinions about it, as well as the result are presented. In the course of defining the activity of humorous discourse, its use in public circles was given.
