Abstract

Since the concept of water dates back to the time of the birth of humankind, it is the most indigenous and fertile composition of hundreds of stable expressions and names found in the spoken and written literature of the modern Arabic and Kazakh languages. Whatever the period, in the Arabic language of poetry, the concept of water differs in its flavor. The pre-Islamic life of the Arab people living in the Sahara Desert was characterized by difficulties and severity due to the lack of water. The lifestyle of the Arab people in Jahili (the time of Ignorance) times is known for migrating from one place to another in search of water and green pastures. Therefore, it is no coincidence that in Arabic water is considered to be sacred, the formation of love and respect for it are mentioned. The aim of the article is to compare the Kazakh expressions and verbs connected with water borrowed from the Arabic language with the Arabic phrases related to water. If we talk about the fact that a certain national code is hidden in the language, then it is possible to determine the meaning of this concept for the nation by studying individual concepts. Therefore, this article summarizes the linguistic units of the concept "الماء su" (water) in Arabic cognition, analyzes its phraseological units in relation to the concept of "water" in Kazakh mentality, identifies linguistic manifestations of the concept "الماء su water" in Arabic and Kazakh languages. We will witness what has arisen in connection with religion and belief. Therefore, we are looking into the roots of community and solidarity in the two peoples under consideration in their similar nomadic lifestyle and religious worldview. The results of the research can be used by the scientists and translators who study and compare the Arabic and Kazakh languages.
