In the article, the conformity of the metrorhythmic structure in the translations of Abay Kunanbayuly's poems into Russian and English is comprehensively studied. The main feature of poetic translation is its freedom of form and the translator's need to convey the meaning correctly. In addition, preservation of artistic style, rhyme and melody in the translation is a great challenge for the translator. The article discusses the difference between poetic translation and literary translation, especially the fact that each word has a great semantic and stylistic load. The purpose of the study is to identify metrorhythmic and semantic similarities between the original and the translations through a comparative analysis of Russian and English translations of Abay's poem "Gylym tepanda tyanba" and to show how they were conveyed. . To achieve this goal, the methods of analysis of rhythm, rhyme and semantic-stylistic correspondence between the original and translated texts were used. During the research, various features of Russian and English translations were identified and their level of closeness to the original was evaluated. The theoretical analysis provides an understanding of the rhythmic structure and semantic harmony of the translations, as well as their effect on the reader. It was found that the level of closeness to the original was high in the Russian translations, and the rhythm and rhyme were well preserved. In English translations, verlibre (free verse lines) are used a lot, and although the rhythmic structure has undergone some changes, the conveyance of the semantic load has been preserved. From a practical point of view, the results of the analysis show that the translators were careful in their lexical selection and correctly used stylistic methods to preserve the main idea and emotional impact of the original. It has been proven that the translators were able to convey the desired effect to the reader by maintaining a balance between the original and the translations.
