Abstract

In modern linguistics, it is very important to reveal the linguacultural nature of stable phrases. Phrases represent a special branch of linguistics that determines the culture of the people, way of life, traditions, customs, morals, and worldview. The aim of the study is to identify the linguistic and cultural features of English set phraseological units, to identify positive and negative connotations, imagery and metaphorical nature of phraseological units inspired by numbers from one to ten in the English language. In achieving the goal of the research work, several scientific directions were studied, namely: the frequency of use of lexemes with sacred meaning, their lexical and semantic content, stylistic nuances. The article identifies the positive and negative connotations, artistic and metaphorical features of phraseological units inspired by the numbers from one to ten in the English language. The frequency of use, lexical-semantic content and stylistic shades of lexemes with sacred meaning have been studied. The linguacultural status of idioms is determined, positive and negative connotations, metaphorical and figurative meaning are assessed, associative connections between the functional-semantic fields of English idioms are highlighted. The issue of the equivalence of phraseological units and the formation of gaps in the phraseological picture of the world is considered. The article analyzes fifty-seven phrases with numerical components in the English language  which of thirty-two with positive connotation and twenty-five phases with negative connotation. The article can be used in the comparative study of other languages, in the formation of the linguistic structure of stable phrases and the individualization of linguoculturalisms in the field of translation. The purpose of the research work is to determine the linguacultural nature of English set phrases, collect the number of constituent phraseological units of the English language, and determine their functional-semantic field. The object of the article's research is multicomponent lexeme constant phrases used in lexicography and studied in linguaculturology.
