LINGUISTIC NATURE OF NUMERATIVE PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

In modern linguistics, it is very important to reveal the linguacultural nature of stable phrases. Phrases represent a special branch of linguistics that determines the culture of the people, way of life, traditions, customs, morals, and worldview. The aim of the study is to identify the linguistic and cultural features of English set phraseological units, to identify positive and negative connotations, imagery and metaphorical nature of phraseological units inspired by numbers from one to ten in the English language. In achieving the goal of the research work, several scientific directions were studied, namely: the frequency of use of lexemes with sacred meaning, their lexical and semantic content, stylistic nuances. The article identifies the positive and negative connotations, artistic and metaphorical features of phraseological units inspired by the numbers from one to ten in the English language. The frequency of use, lexical-semantic content and stylistic shades of lexemes with sacred meaning have been studied. The linguacultural status of idioms is determined, positive and negative connotations, metaphorical and figurative meaning are assessed, associative connections between the functional-semantic fields of English idioms are highlighted. The issue of the equivalence of phraseological units and the formation of gaps in the phraseological picture of the world is considered. The article analyzes fifty-seven phrases with numerical components in the English language which of thirty-two with positive connotation and twenty-five phases with negative connotation. The article can be used in the comparative study of other languages, in the formation of the linguistic structure of stable phrases and the individualization of linguoculturalisms in the field of translation. The purpose of the research work is to determine the linguacultural nature of English set phrases, collect the number of constituent phraseological units of the English language, and determine their functional-semantic field. The object of the article's research is multicomponent lexeme constant phrases used in lexicography and studied in linguaculturology.
