Abstract

The article is dedicated to the theme of the archetype of the journey, explored through the example of contemporary Kazakhstani literature. The authors investigate the archetype of the journey as a connecting link between a series of archetypal images in Yuri Serebryansky's fairy tale Riding on a Turtle from the Kazakhstani Fairy Tales cycle. The goal of the article is to analyze the archetypal framework in the context of contemporary Kazakhstani literature. The journey, as one of the key archetypes in world literature, in these modifications, carries a specific cultural tint that reflects the peculiarities of the Kazakhstani mentality and mythological perception of the world. The author's approach to interpretation allows for identifying the connection between mythological, cultural, and psychological aspects that go beyond the traditional principle. The article aims to analyze the archetypal structure in modern literature, as well as how this archetype serves as a link between various images and motifs. By considering Kazakhstani Fairy Tales, the authors show how the archetype of the journey is revealed in the plot, images, and symbols present in Kazakhstani literature, and how it helps create deep and multi-layered narratives. Special attention is paid to analyzing the transformation of the archetypal journey in contemporary literary discourse, where tradition and modernity often enter into a dialogue. In Yuri Serebryansky's fairy tale Riding on a Turtle, archetypal analysis reveals two opposing models of movement along the life path, embodied through the symbols of the turtle (the past) and the tram (the future). The authors establish the presence of the ethnocultural archetype of the journey in Serebryansky's Riding on a Turtle and prove that this archetype is present at all levels of the text's architecture.
