STUDY OF THE SCIENTIFIC IMAGE OF THE CONCEPT «POWER» AND NATIONAL-CULTURAL SPPECIFCITIES IN KAZAKH AND ENGLISH LANGUAGES

The notion concept, concept analysis is done due to the consideration of linguistic and cultural peculiarities of two non-related languages. The article under consideration deals with national-cultural specificity of Kazakh and English concept “power” in non-related languages. With the help of comparative and contrastive methods there were identified similarity and differences between the meanings of Kazakh and English concept “power”. The given concept has been analyzed according to the perceptive, conceptual, cognitive and estimation perspectives and given their specific features. There were identified that there are a lot of similarities in Kazakh and English concept “power”. In contrasting Kazakh and English concept “power” the authors came to conclusion that both concepts possess the meanings as observation, domineering, strength, influence and management, which are typical to both languages. Nevertheless, when comparing two languages we have found out that in some cases the concept “power” and its meaning do not correspond word-for-word, sometimes differentiating features can be seen. Since English and Kazakh are two different languages and belong to two different linguistic environments, the concept of "power" has a meaning and a national cultural feature, and it was found that the concept in the Kazakh language does not exist in the English language, on the contrary, it was found that the equivalent in the English language does not exist in the Kazakh language. To compare the concept “power” special dictionaries, literary historical texts, and their translation were applied in the analysis. Research results can be used in conducting cross-national and cross-cultural experiments, conceptual analysis. Translation analysis can be used to compile association dictionaries, bilingual dictionaries, in the practice of teaching subjects such as linguistic and cultural studies, cognitive linguistics, intercultural communication in higher educational institutions.
