PRAGMATIC FUNCTIONS OF A LITERARY TEXT

Abstract

This article presents and analyzes text excerpts from works of fiction that define the pragmatic function of language and reflect its pragmatic potential. In the scientific work, the author's pragmatic actions in depicting the characters and plot of the work are considered as one of the aspects of the pragmatic function of the literary text.  Currently, artistic texts that have a great influence on the consciousness of society, to a certain extent enlightening society, awakening its inner culture, spiritual world, national consciousness, do not cease to remain important objects of scientific research.

The purpose of the article is to determine the functional and pragmatic aspects of the language of a literary text. Functional pragmatics includes both internal and external spheres of linguistics. In addition, the categories of functional pragmatics can also be society, personality and speech action. It can be argued that a person, forming in society, uses language and acts to find his place in life. Every person has his own dimensions of reality in the knowledge of the environment. Originating in the categories of reality in philosophy, in functional pragmatics this aspect is called extralinguistic, mental, linguistic reality.

That is why in functional pragmatics, along with the correct use of language forms by speakers and listeners, their intentions, interest, thought, style, tactics are also important. In modern literary studies, the field of functional pragmatics is very important for expanding the scope of linguistic research of literary texts.

Scientific and practical significance of research work. The work defines the character, psychological and genetic features of the Kazakh ethnic group, emphasizes the bright individuality of the authors in the skill of word-making. In this regard, it is difficult to overestimate the importance of analyzing a literary text, which is entrusted with the task of comprehensively revealing the value, originality and special color in the image of the national code of the Kazakhs. The reader's pragmatics includes questions of the level of perception, propositional acts in the language, the style of decoding, and others. Such complex and topical topics predetermine the pragmatic function of the text and require extensive research.

In the methodology of the study, in order to solve the tasks set in the work, methods of collecting the considered language units from texts in works of art, text analysis, description method, etc. are comprehensively used.

The materials and conclusions collected as a result of the research can be used in higher educational institutions when writing theses and term papers, as well as during basic and special elective courses «Prpgmastilistics», «Text and Discourse», «Pragmatics of literary text», «Pragmalinguistics of text».

The value of research work lies in the fact that in the process of studying at higher educational institutions it can be used in special courses and seminars, such as "Linguistics of text in the language of a work of art", as well as for the purpose of compiling various dictionaries during classes.
